About
I am Linda Ruiz Pena of Ruiz Pena Investments. I am a Licensed Broker with 15+ yrs of experience. My diverse portfolio consists of Long Term Rentals, Vacation Rentals, Flips & Ground Up Builds.
Rewind to 2009, my husband and I embarked on a one year honeymoon traveling the world. This opened my eyes to the ways of travel & the rental potential. I invested in the vacation rental market early on, becoming an expert in the niche market. This led to the Founding of Venture Yours (Vacation Rental Property Management). I went on to build a tiny home and proved concept of ROI potential. After building a profitable company, I sold.

My Thoughts
Sometime in 2022
Ordinary moments and The Shift.
I take risks because I have seen the benefits it brought my immigrant family and the benefits it continues to bring my nuclear family: Joy, happiness, love, financial freedom. My career has been a combination of doing what I like to do and doing what I think I should do. In that, I've found the parts of my career I don't like and the parts I'm passionate about. I am fortunate to own the assets I do. The portfolio consists of vacation homes, investment properties, our beautiful home we live in, and founder of a company that was later sold.
What is the purpose of life? Maybe it's to grow and experience. Learn to be present, give gratitude, watch the tree's sway, love deeply. I'm not sure but I do know that I love to spend it with those I love. With love behind my achievements, the pride and passion is shared and there is connection.

As someone who plans far too much, over the years I've made a retirement plan from scratch on excel. The retirement plan excites me on purely the strategy of numbers, but also brings "time" into play. Time keeps moving, my children get older.
Covid was a big shift for me. Prior to covid I had been reflecting on the simple joys of life and how those ordinary moments were in fact extraordinary. And then Covid hit and the world was put on pause. I was in the living room watching the leaves of a plant be moved by the wind and I could hear my kids laughter in the backyard. Ordinary moment. I couldn't remember the last time I had been that present.
The shift continued and 7 months later I made the decision to sell Venture Yours. The plan was to take the summer off and enjoy my kids. The 3 months turned into 12 months.
I was being given the opportunity to be present with my family, to watch them learn as they explored the world, to play with them, to listen to them. After 1 year of minimal work I am not rushing the process and thus aligning my intentions with my actions. I know the pattern within me. When I see an opportunity I want to chase it. I have seen many opportunities in the last 12 months and it has been a challenge and a a great reward to pause and not chase.

Honoring and putting importance on the ordinary moments while I step into the next phase of my career.
The common thread in my experience is a combination of being at the forefront of innovation, strategy & the ability to adapt to challenges. With balance in mind, I think of the next chapter in my career with intention. Spending time with family and giving gratitude.
